Lunch For All As Barefoot Embraces Good Neighbour Campaign

Residents of a Cheshire village kicked off their shoes for a ‘Big Lunch’ party at the new headquarters of Barefoot, at Bosley, near Congleton.

The luxury flooring company - developed by Cheshire entrepreneur Dawn Gibbins MBE - adopted the idea from the Eden Project, the Cornish eco-centre, which called on organisations across the UK to join them in being good neighbours and host a ‘Big Lunch’ on July 19.

Around 150 people turned up for the event, which included face painting for children and complimentary massage treatments by a therapist.

Dawn Gibbins, said: “The idea was for everyone to bring along something they have baked, made, grown or brought and to share it with their neighbours.

“The day went really well and people really enjoyed themselves.“

One of Bosley’s oldest residents, Sam Hadfield, 85, was among the guests. He said:

“It was a great event for the village and a good chance to see the super showroom at Barefoot.”
